PlayStation Plus free games May 2024

EA Sports FC 24 Standard Edition | PS4, PS5

After a very long run under the FIFA name, this year for the first time EA’s beloved football game is released under the EA Sports brand. the game itself is not that much different from its predecessors: there are several improvements in every aspect, of course, but it will still feel familiar to seasoned FIFA players. The most notable change, play-wise, is that now each player is finely tailored to his (or her) real-life counterpart, possessing unique skills that make them control differently from other players. Other notable changes include a wide roster of female teams, and the possibility to improve the players you get in Ultimate Team by completing specific objectives. All in all, this is the best football game so far. Kick off!

Ghostrunner 2 | PS5

Four years ago Ghostrunner got a lot of positive recognition for its next-gen looks, smooth parkour and lightning-fast combat. Now its sequel, Ghostrunner 2, improves upon it in every conceivable way, mixing up even more action, special moves and good characters. Most notably, the new motorcycle lets you run around at high speed and perform some incredible stunts, killing enemies in the most stylish way. Just like its predecessor, a single hit is all it takes to kill most enemies AND your character, but don’t worry, respawns are very quick and the game checkpoint system is quite generous. If you like fast, action-packed games Ghostrunner 2 may be just the game for you.

Tunic | PS4, PS5

Such a nice, cute game, looks like it would be perfect for my 5-year old kid. If this is what you’re thinking upon seeing Tunic, think again! Despite its cute looks, this game has a lot more mature gameplay than it seems and requires good skills and puzzle-solving abilities to progress. If Zelda and Dark Souls had a child, that would be Tunic. Playing as a small fox, you will have to explore the world and battle enemies, discovering what is going on little by little by means of cryptic pages from an instruction manual. Tunic is certainly an interesting addition to the PS+ lineup and should be enjoyed by many skilled players.

Destiny 2: Lightfall | PS4, PS5

Another Destiny 2 expansion comes to PSPlus after The Witch Queen. The story nears its conclusion with the arrival of the Witness, and this time your battlefield will be the city of Neomuna on Neptune. Your fighting arsenal will be expanded with the new green elemental Strand sub-class. It will forfeit your grenade launcher, but will include a very welcome addition: a grapple hook that will allow you to quickly zip all over the battlefield (or upon unsuspecting enemies) to deal massive damage! Lightfall may not be the most brilliant expansion to Destiny 2 (that title belongs to the Witch Queen), but it’s a nice step towards a grand conclusion. And it’s free to PS+ subscribers, which doesn’t hurt!

There are still a few days before the games from the April batch are replaced, so you have time until May 6th to download last month's games if you haven't done so already. Remember, once you add them to your library they're yours forever (as long as you keep subscribed to the PSPlus service). These were last month's games:
